For all of you that are pro iPad, I think you should check this out.
These are Kyek's (Appulo.us creator) words that he left for apple to see in case they went to see the (now closed) site.

Pretty interesting for sure. I agree with some of it, but not all of it. You see the iPad isn't designed for the L33T Hardcore computer users.

Apple designed the iPad for Your Grandparents, and all those Soccer Moms, and anyone who just wants to turn on a device and check email, surf some web, and mid to casual gamers in mind.

Those users are happy to give up computer freedom which happens to equal mass confusion to find applications, virus protection, and driver incompatibilities.

If consumers want a rock solid, fast, secure, and easy publishing platform there is NO WAY to do that without a closed system end of sentence.

Yes they could add repositories sure but those applications can easily corrupt the system. Apple isn't ans never has gone after the Hardcore markets they have always been a niche company.

Now on the other hand If apple decides to design newer versions of OSX with iTunes as a core part of the OS and only allow applications to be installed on the PC through them than we have a problem.

The iPad is what it is, and I personally think the software will be what drives the sales. I'm still on the fence about waiting a few months to get one because I know there is a camera version coming and a price drop in 6 months. Too many analysts and reports of upgraded features floating around already which is going to hurt initial sales.

I don't mind a close system myself after years of Blue-Screens, Incompatibility issues, and spending nights and days fighting off viruses on both OSX and Windows.

While I wait for the newer iPads I can safely say I will getting one some day. I just wan't my PC to work. I'm not worried about massive gaming on it as I own consoles for that.

It just boils down to what camp your in..and these days I just want stability and the safety of just having my stuff work when I need it.

Default Same kind of negative response back in 2001

Turn back the clock to the very moment when the first generation iPod was unveiled, and see the response on a Mac forum!!! It's a pretty damn close call to see if the anger was against the iPod or iPad!
